Verre eglomise for Claridge's

We were honoured to be invited to create these large verre eglomise panels for Claridge’s in Mayfair, London.
Drawing on the history of this iconic venue, we worked closely with the in-house design team to create these gilded glass panels situated either side of the stairs of the ballroom entrance.
Inspired by the imagery of the early 20th Century, the design evokes the photographs of Cecil Beaton and illustrious events held at the ballroom in decades past. The ethereal treatment of the women’s silhouettes captures a sense of movement and glamour, as though the ladies are on their way to a glittering party.

An imposing verre eglomise artwork was created by Studio Peascod to form a back drop to the reception of London’s restaurant Spring, headed by Michelin-starred chef Skye Gyngell.
Spring is located in the 19th century drawing room of Somerset House, a Neoclassical mansion on the north bank of the Thames, London. The room has been refurbished to its former glory and was opened to the public for the first time in over 150 years.
Hints at the fleeting beauty of nature are present throughout Spring’s interior scheme and this formed the starting point of Emma Peascod’s design. Taking compositional influence from 18th Century Japanese screens, the five-panel piece includes layers of 22 carat gold leaf and silver leaf verre eglomise, Japanese washi papers and pigments.
Emma worked closely with interior designer Briony Fitzgerald and Skye Gyngell to realise the project through an exchange of sketches, colour inspirations, and ideas resulting in a work which is in harmony with the warm, welcoming elegance of the restaurant.

One Aldwych
We worked with Fabled Studio on these decorative mirrors for the Lobby Bar and Indigo Restaurant of One Aldwych, London. The verdigris colour inspiration for the verre églomisé panels was inspired by the copper-clad cupola of this landmark Aldwych building.

We worked with Fabled Studio on these decorative mirrors for the Lobby Bar and Indigo Restaurant of One Aldwych, London. The verdigris colour for the verre eglomise panels was inspired by the copper-clad cupola of this landmark Aldwych building.
The panels are first seen inside of the lobby portals and are created using gold leaf and polychromes in rusts and soft verdigris on a dark background. The design is carried through to the mezzanine restaurant, but with a verre eglomise white gold reflective background. The pieces are set within elegant dark wood panelling and serve as a back drop to the curved banquettes.

Verdigris for Belgravia Residence
Studio Reed commissioned Studio Peascod to create these large gold verre églomisé panels, enveloped by copper verdigris, to hang above a grey lava stone bath.
Project Belgravia Residence, London | Designer Studio Reed
Studio Reed commissioned Studio Peascod to create three large gold verre eglomise panels with copper verdigris, to hang above a grey lava stone bath.
The intricate textures and colours of the panels were achieved using a technique developed in the studio. Together with 22 carat gold leaf verre eglomise, the panels feature real copper leaf that was antiqued by hand to produce the rich verdigris shades. This process mimics the natural patina that occurs with copper when exposed to the elements over time.
